Photography When It’s Cloudy

What’s up guys it’s Donovan Wagner and today we’re gonna give you some tips on how to take better photos when it’s cloudy outside. Alright, look at the bright side even when it’s cloudy out it’s just nature’s softbox. It’s actually doing you favors when you’re shooting portraits because there’s no shadows under the eyes or chin it’s really even like a good alternative to shooting outside in the winter is to just bring it inside shoot near a window.

It doesn’t matter if it’s cloudy or sunny, window light is really nice soft light to use. Okay another tip for when it’s winter and it’s crappy outside the weather’s not cooperating is just get out there and use the gray tones and make it kind of moody and edgy. That makes it almost look really artistic and cool. Lastly just remind yourself that when you’re looking at a photo you want to focus on the subject or the elements within the environment rather than the landscape in most cases anyways.

So make your photos a little bit more interesting so if you live in a city go downtown and shoot near some big buildings, reflections use puddles, get creative and just really draw your viewers eyes to where you want them to look that way the weather doesn’t really matter what it’s doing because it’s still an interesting photo.

In conclusion, I hope this helps you guys stay motivated through the winter months and just remember to get out there and shoot no matter what the weather is doing. If you like this video give it a thumbs up and also make sure you subscribe to our channel to follow along.
